Imagine how it would feel!

Wouldn’t it be great if you could have an amazing day out that just feels like a fun day in the forest or on the beach with your dog BUT you end it with amazing photographs that you can hang up on your wall showcasing your adventure and your relationship with each other!

I know you could just take them on your phone, and I am sure your phone is full of pictures of your dog out and about being adorable.

But:

  1. How many are with your dog half out of the frame, a blurred mess or just looking a little crazy?
  2. And more importantly, how many of your photos of your dog have you in it with them?
  3. How many make it off the phone and get printed?

By hiring me, you can simply enjoy the day, and let me worry about capturing it in all its beauty! I will get portraits of your dog and most importantly portraits of the both of you together. I understand you may be a bit camera-shy, people often resist me at first when I invite them in front of the camera. But every time,  these are the photos that people love the most! So trust me, trust the process and the results will speak for themselves.

Instead of a chaotic mix of photos on your phone what if instead:

  1. You had high-quality print-worthy photos
  2. Easy access via an online organised album as well as a dedicated personal app on your phone with all your photos of your dog in one place!
  3. And most importantly beautiful photos that not just include your dog, but your and dog together living your best lives!

Do you have some or all of these concerns?

My dog has been judged or treated badly because of their breed, appearance or is reactive to people, is insecure in new environments or has behavioural issues!

I understand you may have concerns as your dog's welfare and safety is paramount and you don’t want to set them up in another bad situation.

But when I say I want to photograph your dog I mean it YOUR dog. Especially if your dog is “scary” “big” “dark” or reactive!

I am the proud mum to Bruno, a “big, scary, bully breed” who is dark in colour and reactive. Bruno has been treated badly by strangers and professionals just because of his breed and appearance!

I learned fast the hard reality of having a breed facing prejudice, and how to advocate for my dog in all scenarios. I will advocate not just for my dog, but for your dog too.

I adapt the shoot to the dog, go at their pace and follow your example in how to approach them, and interact with them. I have so many tools in my box to make sure the shoot is a positive experience for all present!

To state it plainly:

  1. I will not be afraid of your dog regardless of breed, colour or size
  2. I will not judge them for growling, barking, jumping or reacting in any way to something that makes them uncomfortable or scares them
  3. I know they are just trying to figure out this world as we all are and

My dog is older, or/and has underlying health concerns. They can do what they use to be able to do!

I understand when your dog has health considerations and particularly if they are getting older, they may need accommodations to keep them comfortable and to ensure their health is not impacted by the day out being a top model.

We will discuss before the shoot any concerns and considerations that are needed and will plan accordingly.  We can work around weather, location and anything else we need to to keep your dog comfortable and happy!

Your dog sets the pace and that applies double when it is due to health considerations. If we need to avoid extreme temperatures, strenuos exercise or stop for a bit to allow them food and medication we can!

Due to my "full day guarantee" which means I only ever book one client a day, I will never be tight with time and have to be rushing off! When you boo me you get me for as long you need on that day!

“I know truly from the bottom of my heart you as their guardians are doing an amazing job with them And that deserves to be captured !!”

Sinead really knows how to work with people and pets!

You can tell about her passion and sincerity through her shots. very grateful to have such lovely memories!

'In my shoots, the rule is it's a dog's world and we are just here for them. That is certainly how it works with my dog Bruno!

Let me tell you about my journey with Bruno!

In 2022, my husband and I adopted a dog. Something we had wanted to do for a long time. We had all these ideas about what dog would work for us and we trawled through adoption websites.

Then I laid my eyes on Bruno, an American Staffordshire terrier (aka Amstaff) who was in Ireland (my home country) looking for a new home. I was smitten. My husband was smitten.

And before we knew it, we were on our way to collect Bruno at the pick-up point in Sweden.

Keep reading to see how bruno shaped my business

We all bonded so fast. He just had so much love to give and was so keen to be loved too.

But as we started taking him out for walks, and to dog parks and dog-friendly spots, it hit me - people don't see a love bug, they see a scary aggressive bully breed! Even though he was doing nothing at all to deserve that, except simply existing as a dark-coloured larger-built dog!

People don't see a love bug, they see a scary aggressive bully breed. While we loved Bruno, not everyone did!

People would cross the street to avoid him, leave the dog park as we approached, ask us to leave spaces and that was at the nicer end of our experiences. We also had people try to kick him, yell at him and me, wish him harm and throw things at him.

He got attacked then once, and we got blamed! Even though Bruno was bleeding and injured, the other dog walked away with no injuries or pain!

All these negative experiences piled on and Bruno lost his confidence. As did I. I developed a lot of anxiety going out with him,  I was so worried I was somehow ruining and traumatising this wonderful dog. I was struggling to manage him on the leash as he reacted to his triggers and became so afraid of what people thought of him and me.

But I knew he deserved better, and I was not about to give up on him without a fight! We hired a trainer (after finding some that suggested we do behavioural euthanasia) we came across the amazing Alex of Wolfgang Way.

We worked hard on his triggers, rebuilding his confidence and mine and learning how to communicate better with each other. I learned so much during this time of relationship growth and bonding with Bruno.

4 key Lessons I learned that I now apply to my clients and their shoots:

Lesson 1: Make a plan and check the space we are entering. I always ask myself will he be comfortable and what can I do to make the space better?

How I apply this to my clients: We can discuss and choose the location together. We will consider the environment, weather and whether we will meet people, other dogs or wildlife.

Lesson 2: Advocating for him in all interactions - you can’t be nice to my dog, then you don’t get to be with my amazing dog or me. This applies to human and dog greetings.

How I apply this to my clients: I will encourage you to advocate for your dog. I promise to listen and understand you are the expert on your dog. I will greet and interact with them as you guide me. I will also always advocate for your dog by checking myself at all times for my behaviour and interactions with your dog.

Lesson 3. Understanding his communication - I make sure I do not get mad at him for advocating for himself by barking or growling if his boundaries are being crossed!  However, I do look for earlier signs of distress so he doesn't have to resort to escalating his behaviour when he is uncomfortable.

How I apply this to my clients: I will not get scared by your dog's behaviour. I know big and loud does not equal scary and aggressive!  I will not judge you for your dog's behaviour. I know the difference between a stressed and an aggressive dog.

Lesson 4. Take it slow  I trust my dog who can handle a lot, but sometimes it just takes time. We just need to work at his pace, take it slow and give a lot of space for him to figure it out!

How I apply this to my clients: Your dog is the boss of the day and we will go at their speed, and let them set the tone and pace! They want to run and shake off the stress before settling - great let's do action shots first! They are a little shy and clingy to you! Great! We will do portraits first and let them get used to me and my camera.

Is your tail wagging yet? I hope so.

“I have grown and learnt so much from being Bruno's guardian and mum. Lessons I bring to my business and why it is so important to me to photograph ALL dogs, not just the “easy” dogs. Because all dogs deserve a great day out and the photos to prove it”

Bruno has taught me so much about how to interact with nervous dogs. He has massively improved my patience and understanding of anxious dogs!

So what do I offer?

Capturing and celebrating the relationship between you and your dog, regardless of who your dog is, gets my tail wagging, in fact, I get whole-body wiggles!

I have a range of packages so I am confident I have the 'pawfect' package for you and your pooch! You can read more about the packages here!

All my packages have these 3 key things in common:

  1. A complimentary free pre-shoot call to discuss your dog's exact needs to ensure the best experience on the day. Here we can make a plan to accommodate your dog's needs if any. We can also cover wardrobe, what to bring on the day and confirm location etc. I will also send over a small PDF with all the best tips and advice to get the most out of your shoot.
  2. A shoot completely designed and adapted for your dog and their needs.
  3. A “full day” guarantee. This means while most shoots will be about 2 to 3 hours I only book one client a day and since your dog will set the pace we can spend as long or as short as needed to have a great day out and to ensure we get the best photographs.

4 Ways I adapt a shoot for your dog!

Location:

I shoot outdoors, year-round and can also come to your home to do in-home shoots!

I often recommend Slottsparken, Pildammparken or the dog park at Ribban if you are in Malmö. Outside of Malmö, I often use Snogeholm Strövområde for wonderful nature-inspired shots that the dogs feel natural in. I can however work anywhere in Skane (travel fees may apply). I do have a range of locations that we can discuss and we will choose one that will suit your dog the best!

However, we will discuss your dog's needs before setting the locations so we can choose one they feel most comfortable in! If we need to be isolated, we will not choose a busy place like Ribban, if they get stressed around water we will avoid the beach and lake settings! If they are older or have health issues we will choose an easy-to-access location.

In short, I have a bunch of lovely locations all around Skåne so we can definitely find the perfect location for you and your pooch!

Time:

Is your dog full of beans in the morning, but in bed by lunch,? Is your dog not a fan of the dark? Or perhaps we need to be conscious of the sun high in the sky so we don't all overheat! We will focus and set a time to start that shoot that makes sense for your dog and you! I will also be flexible with the length of the shoot takes. On average I do find 3 hours is the most common but if we need more time, I will always be free to give more, and of course, if your dog tires or needs to go home quicker, then we can get the shots quicker and make sure we get it done before your dog gets overtired.

On my shoots, the dog sets the pace, all the time, every time!

Greetings:

Before the shoot, we will discuss the best way for me to meet your dog! It can be as simple as letting them sniff me and off we go, or we can plan for a short walk together before we start shooting so can calm down and get used to me. I can have some treats on hand to build trust. Ultimately it can be what deem is best for your dog to be calm and comfortable on the shoot. If your dog is very stressed with meeting new people, we can also skip the greeting and I will keep a distance and use zoom lenses to get shots from a far!

Gear:

I know every dog has different levels of comfort and experience with gear. From harnesses to leashes to clothes and accessories I only ever want to use what the dog can tolerate and be comfortable in. However, I do shoot outdoors meaning leashes are often necessary or at least recommended especially if you have a puppy or reactive dog that might get spooked and run of!

But that doesn't mean you can't have leash-free photos, between using a long line (which I can provide) and some clever posing we can eliminate the leash from the photos quite easily and for all else there is Photoshop!

I also am aware some dogs don't like flashes or perhaps don't find it comfortable when strangers stand too close! Therefore I do choose my gear that allows me to stand further back to keep the dog comfortable if needed!

Flash or no, long lines/leashes, lenses that allow me to stay further way.

As long as I am aware, we can make the shoot a very fun and comfortable experience for all dogs regardless of their reactivity, training level or health status!

Bribery:

If your dog is anything like my Bruno, I know I win them over with food and treats. Of course, toys and praise can also work too! I will ask prior to the shoot what the easiest way to your dog's heart is and come prepared! I am not above bribing your dog to love me!
